Quest for Valadrin - 0.0.8 Update


The clock is ticking...

Version 0.0.8 brings a new mechanic to the game: time!

Moving around the map, taking actions, and fighting monsters (or NCPs) now takes time. This affects the game in several ways:
- Players can no longer rest until they have been awake for at least 12 hours (no being lazy, adventurer!)
- Players will become tired after 18 hours of no sleep. Being tired has no penalty.
- Players will become exhausted after 24 hours of no sleep. Exhausted players suffer disadvantage to attack and spell rolls until their next successful rest.
- The world now "resets" at midnight, instead of after resting. This includes spawning and moving monsters on the world map, moving NPCs and guards, and restocking store supplies.

I'll look at adding more time-sensitive features very soon. This will include open times for shops and random time-based events (which will eventually tie into an upcoming alignment system).

Version 0.0.8 also comes with the following changes:
- Resting outside of town near guards will always cause them to be gone in the morning. This allows the game to drop random encounters on you during your sleep.
- Increased the chance of quest items spawning in containers (chests, safes, boxes).
- Current time, and number of days since adventure began, are displayed on the UI.

Bug fixes:
- Wizard's "Explosive Spells" ability now works as intended
- You no longer gain xp from being killed
- Completed quests no long become marked as "Failed" if the quest NPC is killed (the person you hand the quest in to).
- Fixed weapon typo. The "Triden" is now correctly the "Trident".
